3. Backstory – Gathering Era
We know that Tock is part of the Yellow Team, which means that he was recruited by the Yellow Team captain, Law. And we also know that Law‘s method of recruitment is paternal procreation (his children were born with powers) – so we know that Tock is Law‘s son. We also know that Tock was the first member of the Yellow Team that Law recruited – so we know that Tock is Law‘s oldest child.
We don’t yet know who Tock’s mother was.
We know that Law gathered most of his children to Skye Manor, but that some (strays) eluded him and some (runaways) escaped the Manor. But Tock did neither, he stayed with Law and became part of the Clanna.
We don’t yet know how old Tock was when Law took him from his mother, or how exactly that happened..
He is one of the Senior Clannamates, the Gallowglass, with significant responsibilities in the family business.
4. Powers
Superpower wiki: Temporal Rewind
Tock has the ability to rewind time.
- He has to consciously choose to drop an ‘anchor’ in time
- He can later rewind time back to that point
- The longer he holds on to an anchor, the more energy it drains
- If Tock runs out of energy, he releases the anchor
- The greater Tock’s sphere of influence while holding an anchor, the faster it drains his energy
Example: if Tock were in solitary confinement, he could hold an anchor all day fairly easily, because his sphere of influence in that time is small – he’s not talking to anyone or impacting the timeline outside of his cell. If Tock were trying to hold an anchor while also leading troops into battle, or speaking before a massed crowd, it would be much harder, because rewinding to that anchor point would impact the timelines of many more people.
