Okay, so you’ve come to this website, you’ve taken a look around, and you’ve thought, “this sounds like it might be fun to get involved with.”
How exactly do we write a shared universe?
You’ve got three different ways to get started:
Prompts: We’ve posted some writing prompts to get you started. Pick one of those, do a bit of research, then write a story and submit it. Learn more.
Originals: Explore the website. Pick a player character, pick a start date, do a bit of research, write your story and then submit it to us. Learn more.
Remix: Take inspiration from Powerclash stories that have already been written, and expand, adapt or retell them in your own way, then submit it. Learn more.
For each of them you could choose to work solo, or as part of a writing team. If you’re interested in working as part of team, but don’t know anybody yet, we’ll help match you up with a group.
What happens next?
That depends on how you feel about your story when you submit it.
- Incomplete: Sometimes we run out of steam on a project, or don’t have time to polish it up to the next level. That’s okay! Powerclash is a collaborative writing project, so we might be able to help if you’re stuck, motivate you to push through – or somebody else might be interested in picking it up as a remix to carry on with what you’ve started. – - Complete: You’ve finished the story and would like to share it with the community, but haven’t done any of the continuity checks or Reader Team reviews that are needed to submit it as a candidate. We’ll always add it to the archives, and assess it for further consideration. Lean more.
– - Candidate: You’ve completed and polished your story to the best of your abilities, checked it fits with continuity, have been reviewed by our Reader Team and would like it to be considered for inclusion in the canon. Learn more.
