I dream about a creative commons version of Marvel – but for books as well as comics.
Where nobody says “you can’t write about that character because we own them”.
Where canon evolves out of fanfic, not the other way around.
Where everyone feels welcome to be a creator, not just a consumer.
I dream about meeting amazing writers and artists who will take the loose character sketches provided and run with them in ways that will blow my minds.
Where some of the best stories emerge from filling in the gaps.
Where the community dictates which characters survive and ultimately emerge victorious.
Where the story does eventually have an end-point, and cannot just run and run forever.
A community I can feel proud of.
A community it feels good to be a part of.
That’s the dream.
